Water-flossing To Keep My Mouth Clean

If you’re the type that require the use of inner wires, attachments or TAD (Temporary Anchorage Device) that you can’t take out until the treatment is over, you may find water flossing handy and efficient to clean the dirt around these stuff. Water flossing helps clean the blind spots brought by these devices. I’ve specifically written an article on Waterpik Water Flosser which you should consider getting one for better dental hygiene!

The model I got includes a teeth whitening feature, so it helps with my oral hygiene and at the same time maintain my teeth whiteness.

Cleaning your aligners/retainers

Some people have problem cleaning their retainers. I had the problem too. Never got my aligners clean no matter how hard I brush them or wash them with toothpaste. There’s always debris and dirt in the edges or corners. Luckily I found a little gadget that’s PERFECT for my retainer: Magnasonic Ultrasonic Dental Cleaner*

Magnasonic Dental Cleaner

I just use tap water in this gadget to keep my retainers clean and have been using it for a little over a year. Additionally, I use Polident’s Retainer Cleaner for weekly deep cleanse. You just put in the tablet together with water in the cleaner for deep disinfection.

  • It’s tiny and doesn’t occupy much of the space in the bathroom.
  • It’s super easy to use. You just pour in water, plug in the cord and press the on button and then it’ll run. 5 minutes later, voilà, all clean! I don’t even have to wash them manually anymore.
  • If you have a brand new set of aligners/retainers, be sure to get this gadget to save yourself trouble and frustration.
  • If your aligners/retainers have already built up debris, it may take 3-4 cycles or more to get rid of those. But you should be able to notice a MAJOR difference after just the first run!

* Unfortunately it seems this particular model is discontinued. However, you can still consider the manufacturer’s other models such as this.
